There are 1360 homes in Carolina Preserve at Amberly. The community is completely built out according to the developer's plan and no more homes will be constructed in CP.

When were the homes in Carolina Preserve constructed?
Construction began on the first homes in Carolina Preserve in 2006 and the first homes were sold in late (November/December) 2006. The last homes were completed and sold by December 2013. Bradford Hall, the Carolina Preserve clubhouse, was constructed in 2007.

Bradford Hall, the Carolina Preserve clubhouse, offers over 34,000 square feet of recreational space to Carolina Preserve residents. The facility has an outdoor pool, indoor pool, spa/hot tub, full fitness center, three ballrooms, four activity/meeting rooms, a game room, computer room, billiards room, dance studio, pottery work room with kiln, bocce courts, putting green, patio with gas grill. In addition, there are four tennis courts and five "pocket parks" scattered throughout the community, as well as ponds for fishing and lakes with walking trails. Carolina Preserve residents have formed over 100 special interest groups and clubs that are open to all residents for membership.

Who is in charge of the governance of the community?
Who is in charge of the governance of the community?
The developer has withdrawn from the governance of Carolina Preserve since the last homes have been constructed and sold, leaving the residents of Carolina Preserve to manage their own community through the Carolina Preserve Home Owners Association (CPHOA). CPHOA is run by a seven-member Board of Directors elected from among the homeowners. In addition, there are six committees made up of volunteer homeowners who assist and advise the Board.
 
The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) reviews applications from residents for modifications to ensure that community design guidelines are met.
 
The Covenants Committee (CC) adjudicates potential violations of the CP Covenants by homeowners.
 
The Finance Committee (FC) prepares the annual budget and tracks CPHOA income and expenses throughout the year.

The Information Technology Committee (ITC) advises the Board on technology issues affecting the community. 
 
The Lifestyle Advisory Committee (LAC) supports the Lifestyle Director in the planning and implementing of a positive, active and diverse lifestyle in Carolina Preserve with programs that will provide social, wellness, and educational value enhancing the quality of life within our community.
 
And finally, the Safety Committee (SC) looks at safety issues within the community, including overseeing the Neighborhood Watch program and the CP Community Emergency Response Team (CP CERT).

CP is a 55+ active adult community. Every home must have at least one permanent resident (does not have to have an ownership interest in the property) who is at least 55 years old. No permanent residents under the age of 19 years are allowed.
